Flora has extensive local and international experience in strategic leadership, business development, market penetration and marketing. She also has interests in real estate.

Flora is passionate about business, mentors entrepreneurs particularly women. While she was at the helm at Kenya Association of manufactures she spearheaded a new chapter for Women in manufacturing (WIM) aimed at encouraging more women to join the industrial sector.  She is the current Chairperson of WIM and Anti Counterfeit Agency

She holds an MBA from University of Cape Town 2008- 2010 and B.Sc Finance and accounts (UK) 1988-1991. She has won several awards for her business and on a personal level during her entrepreneurial journey.  Flora sits on several boards both in the private and public sector. On a personal level, Flora is married with three children.

Rev. Dr. Sahaya G. Selvam, sdb. (Speaker)

Sahaya G. Selvam is currently an associate professor at Tangaza University, Nairobi, Kenya.  His academic preparations include undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Sociology, and Religious Studies, and master’s degrees in Philosophy of Religion and Psychology of Religion.  He holds a PhD in psychology from the University of London, UK. He has been serving in East Africa since 1992, as a Catholic priest of the order of Salesians of Don Bosco.

Joram is actively involved in mentoring startups and is a global mentor for the ENPACT startup program in Berlin Germany and Social Impact Awards in Kenya. He serves in the board of the old Cambrians Society and Penya and Upper hill school.

Mr. Samuel Kimeu – Director Transparency International (Speaker)

Mr. Samuel Kimeu joined TI-Kenya in 2010 from the Embassy of Finland, Nairobi where he had been the Governance Specialist since October 2007. He was previously a lecturer at the Kenyatta University School of Law, a Research Intern at Global Rights based in Washington DC and the Executive Director of the Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ-Kenya).

He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Masters of Law degree in International Human Rights from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana-USA. He received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi. Mr. Kimeu is in charge of the day to day running of the affairs of TI –Kenya.

Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari -Vice-Chancellor Designate of Tangaza University College.  (Speaker)

Fr. Mbugua is a priest of the Nakuru Diocese with a doctorate in educational psychology from Egerton University. He has numerous scholarly publications as well as wide knowledge and experience of the Kenyan tertiary educational system.

At Egerton University, he served as the Dean of Students, the Director of University Welfare Services, as well as the Chair of the Department of Psychology, Counseling, and Educational Foundations. In addition, he has served as a resource person for the Commission for University Education.

He was recently appointed as the Vice- Chancellor for the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

Mr. Halakhe D. Waqo: Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.  (Speaker)

Waqo was appointed the CEO of the Commission in January 2013 following its establishment as a Constitutional Commission under Article 79 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Prior thereto, he was a Commissioner with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.

Mr. Waqo has experience in Management, international development and humanitarian work spanning over 23 years.

He has served as a Global Coordinator, World Initiative for Sustainable Pastoralism (WISP/IUCN), International Conflict and Emergencies Advisor – Eastern Africa, with Action Aid International, Horn of Africa Advisor for African Council for Religious Leaders, and Programme Coordinator for Kenya and Rwanda Programmes with Oxfam GB, among others. Internationally he has served as international representative of the Board of International Council for Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) – Geneva, Switzerland and on boards of a number of local and regional development organizations.

Waqo has also undertaken a number of private consultancies including facilitating training on conflict sensitive programming for non-governmental organizations responding to post election violence in Kenya and conducted civic education training. He has also served as a Member of the Genocide Prevention Committee under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya.

Academically, Mr. Waqo’s resume includes a Master of Art degree in Sociology and Conflict studies and Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree from University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University respectively. He is currently undertaking a PhD course.

Michael Oyier: Executive Leadership Coach, (ACC) Counselling Psychologist and Communication Specialist (Facilitator)

Michael lives to be an agent and witness to transformation.

By God’s grace, he has gained knowledge, education and experience as a Counselling Psychologist; a Life, Communication and Leadership Coach, and as a Communications Professional, to help in this mission.  He has been a team leader, and worked with individuals and groups as a trainer and coach in public speaking, handling the media, etiquette and interpersonal skills.

Michael is a therapist to teenage and adult clients; a coach to public and private sector leaders helping them both professionally and personally in life, leadership and communication; he is a public speaker, Master of Ceremony, facilitator and moderator to large and small audiences alike, and he is also a broadcast media practitioner.

He is a holder of a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology; a Certified Executive Leadership Coach with an Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation, and has more than two decades experience in professional communication.

Sr. Mary Magdalene Mutua, cvi. Incarnate Word Sisters (Facilitator)

Sr. Magdalene is a Doctoral Student in Counseling Psychology at Egerton University. She has an   MA in Pastoral Care & Counseling, University of Sandi ego USD California and Bachelor of Arts in Education & Religious Studies from Ubanina University, Rome.

Dr. Daniel Wambiri Muthee:  Director, Career Development and Mentoring Programmes at Kenyatta University.  (Facilitator)

Dr. Muthee is the Director, Career Development and Mentoring Programmes at Kenyatta University. He is a trained teacher and Master Trainer of Trainers particularly in career coaching and mentoring. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Education Arts (Hons) and Masters Degree in Information Sciences from Kenyatta University and a PhD Degree in Information Sciences from Moi University.

He he has undertaken several national interdisciplinary researches and consultancies touching on mentoring and career development, information management, policy issues, digital migration and revolution. He is a Director of the African Policy Institute (API) and Chairman of the Kenya African Network of Information Ethics (KANIE). He is a member of the African Network of Information Ethics (ANIE)  African Centre of Information Excellence (ACIE) and Kenya Library Association (KLA) as well as a Board member of several organizations. He is the immediate Chairman of the Department of Library and Information Science. Daniel has attended several conferences, workshops, seminars and published widely.

Wambui M.  Karanja: Director of External Partnerships at Women Leadership Initiative (Facilitator)

WLI vision is to enhance and nurture the leadership potential of young women to impact their lives, careers, hustles and society.

Wambui  has over ten years’ experience  working in International trade, Sales and Marketing, Business Development Management, Communications and media management, B2B, B2C, fundraising, creating and maintaining strategic partnership in the services sector.

Her key areas of expertise include formulation of marketing initiatives and sales pipelines, community outreach, events coordination, program implementation and administrative oversight. She is a Msc Econ and Business Administration Global Innovation management Major and entrepreneurship minor. She also holds BBA Econ and Business Administration Major International Business administration and Minor International Marketing.

She is passionate about fundraising and sponsorship management for social impact, for solution driven innovations.

Suzanne Silantoi Lengewa :  Youth and Development Coordinator- Fahari Project  ( MC)

Suzanne is a Youth and Development Coordinator of Fahari Project. She has a passion for human development and especially in leadership that contributes to uplifting the standards of living for communities and strongly believes that responsible leadership, accountability and integrity is key in driving human development and that the youth must be totally involved in community and more so in political processes that influence how society operates because this has a direct impact on daily living and posterity.

Suzanne has worked as a communication officer in a Kenyan company, helping in various initiatives that support the organization reach out to especially mothers both in rural areas as well as the informal settlements in Nairobi.   The work inspired her to appreciate the needs of communities with regard to availability and the quality of public services, especially health and confirmed her longing to join politics and to make rightful contribution to society.

While at the university Suzanne established a small business to connect young musicians to clients.  This business helped her gain appreciation not only the complexities of running a business but more importantly to appreciate the plight of the youth in the quest to obtain a meaningful source of livelihood.

Suzanne recently vied for the position of Senator in Nairobi County as the youngest, only independent and only female candidate.  Though she did not clinch the seat, the entire nomination and electioneering process has refined her and helped Suzanne appreciate deeper aspects of politics that she will utilize, in her next bid.

She has been privileged to speak in various international youth forums such as the Africa Union Regional Youth Consultation on Harnessing The Demographic Dividend Through Investments In Youth in Arusha, Tanzania, the 4th Annual Continental Forum of Electoral Management Bodies in Kigali Rwanda as well as attending the 2017 AGA Pre-Gender Forum in Lusaka, Zambia and the High Level Dialogue in Pretoria South Africa.

Suzanne was recently a nominee of the International Association of Political Consultants Democracy Award 2017 alongside David Maraga, Chief Justice and President Supreme Court of Kenya and Kemal Kilicdaroglu, Turkey’s opposition leader.

She was also part of the Short-Term Election Observation Mission of the African Union to the Republic of Sierra Leone’s 2018 General Elections held on March 7th 2018 as well as the Run-Off Presidential Election held on 31st March 2018. The African Union deployed 40 short-term observers, led by our head of Mission Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe, who served as President of South Africa between 25 September 2008 and 9 May 2009.

Suzanne has spoken and participated in debates on national and community radio and TV stations in Nairobi to address issues of politics, women and youth involvement in social economic affairs in our land.  I have participated in discussions with youth in several churches and have been invited as a speaker in various forums.  She has been actively involved in Youth Empowerment activities in various universities in Kenya such as Daystar University and Laikipia University (Maralal Campus).

Suzanne is a musician by training with a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the Kenyatta University.
